What is Soroptimist?

Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Over 80,000 Soroptimists in more than 120 countries and territories volunteer time and contribute financial support to community–based and international projects that benefit women and girls. The name, Soroptimist, means “best for women,” and that’s what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to be their best. Soroptimist programs include “Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls” and “Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women.” Additional club level projects range from anti-trafficking awareness and victim support to Dress a Girl Around the World sewing projects. Members enjoy working together to make a difference in the community and positively impacting local women and girls.
